Men deny taking car that was in crash with black cab written off in Trafalgar Square
WRITE OFF: The accident is said to have happened at iconic Trafalgar Square
TWO men have denied aggravated vehicle taking in connection with a road crash that saw a £25,000 taxi written off at Trafalgar Square.
Shaquille Tyriq Gordon, 19, from Conway Grove, Acton, west London, denied one count of taking a black Ford Fiesta and driving it to central London where the smash is said to have happened.
Through a video link from HMP Peterborough, Ramone Marriott, 19, denied a separate charge of being driven in a vehicle taken without consent in connection with the same incident.
TRIAL: The case was heard at Westminster Magistrates Court
Westminster Magistrates Court today heard the Fiesta and the black cab, driven by cabbie Jason Birch, were both written off in the crash at the London landmark at its junction with Duncannon Street on October 23 last year at around 3.40am.
A third man said to be in the Fiesta was never traced.
No one was injured.
A trial will take place in November.
