GUILTY: Vernon Gafar admitted having a police cap, stab vest and warrant card holder

A USED car dealer has admitted illegally possessing a police uniform and taking weapons used by officers on to the streets.

Vernon Gafar, 33, from Beaufort Street in Chelsea, London, will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court for sentence.

Gafar, who has been involved in a number of used car businesses in Wembley, pleaded guilty to having on him in his street between August 1 and September 22 this year an extendable police baton and a can of pepper spray.

The third charge he admitted was that at his home on September 22, without authority, was found to be in possession of a police baseball cap, a police stab vest, with the crest of the Port of Tilbury in Essex, and a warrant card holder for West Yorkshire Police.

Gafar, who was nota police officer or special constable, also admitted possession of cannabis on the same day.

Gafar appeared at the court last month, but the case was adjourned for a medical or psychiatric report before sentence.
