Drugs middleman running London dedicated crack-cocaine could be out of prison in just eighteen month

A DRUG supply middleman from south-east London has been jailed for three years for supplying drugs through a dedicated mobile phone hotline.

Feroze Khan, 26, of Denmark Hill, Camberwell, ried to distance himself from the street dealers he was supplying across the capital who sold class A drugs through dedicated mobile phone lines and properties he controlled for nearly a year from June last year until May.

A Met Police spokesman said: "The investigation into Khan is part of an initiative to combat drugs lines, where those controlling the supply do not always come into direct contact with those selling-on the drugs.

"However through careful investigation, officers were able to prove Khan was involved in dealing, through the supply of drugs to others."

The investigation began on June 11 2018 at around 3.40pm when officers attempted to stop Khan as he was sat in the driver seat of a blue Mercedes in Denmark Hill.

However Khan manoeuvred around the officers and made off a speed.

The spokesman added: "It was suspected that Khan was involved in the supply of drugs and search warrants were conducted at various addresses controlled or used by him.

"During the course of one of the searches at a flat in East Dulwich, a specialist search dog gave an indication that something was in a bedroom wardrobe."

A green fleece hanging in the wardrobe was searched and a quantity of suspected Class A drugs discovered.

Later analysis revealed that the drugs were 509 wraps of crack cocaine and 84 wraps of heroin with a combined value of over £5,000.

Police were later able to link these drugs to Khan.

A warrant was executed at Khan’s home address and Khan was arrested by officers from the Violent Crime Taskforce in May 2019.

While in police custody, Khan was charged and he pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of a class A drug between 1 June 2019 and 17 May 2019 at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on May 18 2019. He was today sentenced to just three years at Inner London Crown Court.

Khan is also subject of a 10 year criminal behaviour order when released from prison.

Detective Constable Raymond Sekalongo said: “Khan thought he could evade police because he wasn’t directly involved in the handling of drugs but we are now able to target those higher up the chain and prove their involvement.

“Drug dealing is closely linked with violence we see on our streets. We will deal robustly with those who seek to sell drugs, exploit young people and target the most vulnerable within our communities for the sole purpose of financial gain."
