Man in court charged with smuggling 60 firearms into Port of Dover 'hidden in car'

A MAN today appeared in court charged with smuggling 60 handguns into the UK through the Port of Dover.
Robert Keogh, 37, from Clonsilla, Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland, is alleged to have tried to smuggle the guns through the port hidden in a car on Friday, August 2.
He had allegedly travelled by ferry from Calais.
Keogh today appeared at Margate Magistrates' Court charged with illegally importing firearms.
Keogh did not indicate a plea and the case was sent for trial at Canterbury Crown Court with a preliminary hearing next month.
