ALBANIAN accused of burglary and sex crime is extradited from UK to Kosovo
AN ALBANIAN national, accused of a burglary and a sex offence in Kosovo, is being extradited from the UK to face justice.
Dardan Rexhepi, 27, of no fixed abode, consented to be extradited to Kosovo in custody during a hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
He had been due to contest the extradition.
It is alleged that on January 2 2012 in Kosovo, Rexhepi sexually assaulted a girl then aged 15.
Kosovo alleges that more than two years later on April 29 2014 that in the village of Terrne, in Kosovo, he entered a compound as a trespasser and forced a container door open and stole petroleum products.
Rexhepi is expected to face trial over the offences once he is returned.
He was remanded in custody due to his "likelihood of absconding, the nature and seriousness of offences and his lack of community ties in UK," according to a court record of the case.
