EXCLUSIVE: Three charged with Class A drug supply after Maldon drug raids

THREE people have been charged with drug offences after a series of police raids in Maldon.

Restauranteur Abdul Hamid, 33, of Sassoon Way, Maldon, Essex, who was not arrested during the raids on February 25, was charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs, driving while disqualified, dangerous driving, and offences relating to use of electronic transmission devices in prison.

Police vans were seen at a number of locations in the morning, including the Bengal Tiger Indian restaurant at The Square, in Heybridge, which he is a director of.

Business woman Danielle Stevenson-Roberts, 34, of Church Street, Goldhanger, was charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

She is a director of Sunkissed tanning salon in High Street Maldon and the Balti Bhujon Indian restaurant in Mill Road.

Murshed Uddin, 23, of Mundon Road, Maldon, was also charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Stevenson-Roberts and Uddin appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 26, when the case was transferred to Chelmsford Crown Court on a later date.

A 43-year-old man from Maldon, who was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs and money laundering and a 19-year old woman from Brentwood, who was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying a controlled drug and money laundering, were both released under investigation pending further enquiries.
