TERRORISM NEWS: Man arrested at Gatwick Airport on suspicion of terror offence after flying in from
A MAN was arrested at about 4am today at Gatwick Airport after he flew in from Turkey.
Officers from the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command arrested the 25-year-old on suspicion of possession of material likely to be useful to a terrorist, contrary to section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
The force is currently searching a north London address in connection with the investigation.
A Met spokesman said: "The man - arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act - has been taken into custody at a central London police station, where he remains.
"Officers are searching an address in north London as part of the ongoing investigation."
