EXCLUSIVE: Man wanted in Albania over 'Kalashnikov road rage gun attack' is arrested in hidi
ANOTHER Albanian fugitive wanted for and linked to extreme violence involving firearms has been arrested hiding in the UK.
Gramoz Tota, 32, of no known address, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday and was remanded in custody.
He is wanted in connection with a road rage shooting involving a Kalashnikov.
SCENE: The shooting is said to have happened outside this hotel (Facebook)
It is alleged that Tota and another man, who was shot dead two years later, fired a machine gun at the driver of another car outside the Hotel Klindi in Tirana, Albania, at 10.45pm on July 26 2013.
The Kalashnikov shots damaged the black Mercerdez Benz "E Klass Evo", which was on a British registration plate, and injured driver Albert Celija, according to an international arrest warrant.
Albanian records show he was convicted and sentenced to 15 years, but it was dropped to seven on appeal.
But, he was able to get out of Albania before being jailed.
Tota's extradition case was adjourned.
Albanian press reports named Tota's accomplice as Enton Nikaj (pictured top with firearm).
MURDERED: Nikaj, who displayed an extravagant lifestyle on Facebook, was shot dead in 2015
It said that the pair shot Mr Celija after he overtook them on the road.
According to the report, Nikaj was jailed for two-and-a-half years from criminal damage over the attack.
It said in 2006 that Nikaj was with a gang who shot dead Erlin Shepllo with a pistol.
Nikaj got 15 years in jail for the murder, but was out of prison by at least 2013.
The report added that Nikaj himself was shot dead aged 30 by an unknown assailant on November 11 2015.
Tota is the latest in a string of Albanian fugitives caught in the UK who are wanted for murder or attempted murder back home.
