Albanian man denies illegally entering the UK after previously being deported - facing trial
AN ALBANIAN national has denied illegally entering the country after previously being deported.
Madion Gjonaj, 27, of Broomfield Avenue, Enfield, north London, appeared at Willesden Magistrates' Court for a second time earlier this month when he was charged with, while not being a British citizen, "knowingly entering the United Kingdom in breach of a deportation order and in contravention of the Immigration Act 1971."
The court heard he allegedly entered the country on March 31 2021.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence and the case was adjourned until later this year at the same court.
He was released on conditional bail, including being under a curfew at his home between 8pm and 6am daily.
He cannot enter any international travel hubs and ID documents have been retained by police.
He entered no plea at an earlier hearing which was adjourned as there was no Albanian interpreter available.
