Body of 'murdered woman' may have lain undiscovered for some time - 3 people arrested
THE body of a woman believed to have been murdered may have lain undiscovered for some time, police said.
Gloucestershire Police launched a murder investigation after the body was found at a flat in Chapel Street, Stroud, on Friday at around 4.15pm after a neighbour raised concerns.
On Saturday magistrates at Cheltenham granted a warrant of further detention for a local man who was arrested on suspicion of murder.
A man and woman from Stroud, also arrested on suspicion of murder, had 12-hour custody extensions granted by a superintendent.
The death was initially treated as unexplained, but the results of a post-mortem examination led to a murder investigation.
A force spokesman said: "The body is believed to have been undiscovered for some time and detectives are still waiting for confirmation of the identity of the victim."
