EXCLUSIVE: Convicted child rapist from Romania found living in Liverpool

A CONVICTED child rapist on the run in the UK has appeared in court after being found living in Liverpool.

George Constantin, 29, was found to be living at an address in Altcar Avenue, Liverpool, when he was arrested this week.

He appeared before Westminster Magistrates' Extradition Court on Saturday<Nov 5> which heard he is wanted on a European Arrest Warrant from Romania to serve an outstanding sentence for rape and robbery.

According to a wanted listing on the Romanian Police website he was sentenced to three years and ten months in prison for having sexual relations with a 14-year-old minor 2014.

Constantin did not oppose extradition and was remanded in custody to be sent at a later date.

Hundreds of convicted and suspected foreign criminals are arrested each year in the UK before being extradited to their native countries if they are caught.

Many oppose extradition which leads to months of extradition hearings often funded with legal aid.
