EXCLUSIVE: Man arrested in Harlow after dramatic police chase involving helicopter

A DRAMATIC vehicle chase involving a police helicopter ended with an arrest in Harlow.

It came after a vehicle failed to stop for police officers in the Braintree area of Essex.

A National Air Police Service (NAPS)spokesperson said: "At 12:13pm on Saturday 8th March 2025, a police helicopter from NPAS North Weald deployed to the area of Braintree in support of Essex Police.

"Once on scene the aircraft supported ground units in the search for a suspect vehicle. The vehicle was located by the aircraft crew and the incident was concluded after a short pursuit. The conclusion of the incident was within the Harlow area. Total flying time was 24 minutes."

An Essex Police spokesperson said: "An arrest was made after a vehicle failed to stop for our officers in Harlow.

"Officers gave chase after identifying a vehicle which was believed to have been stolen, on Saturday 8 March, in the Chelmsford area.

"The suspect vehicle, an Audi, was brought to a halt in Tendring Road, Harlow, at around 12.30pm.

"A man, aged in his 20s, from Hertfordshire, was arrested and questioned on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle.

"He was released on bail while inquiries continue."
