EXCLUSIVE: Polish man held in jail after failing to turn up for extradition flight

A Polish man was today remanded in custody to await extradition after he failed to show up for an earlier flight.
A judge at Westminster Magistrates' Court issued a warrant for the arrest of Marcin Prawdzik, 46, on Wednesday, February 12, after he failed to show up to the airport for an agreed extradition flight.
Prawdzik, from Caledonian Road, Islington, north London, is wanted in his native Poland in connection with driving and fraud offences.

His extradition to Poland was ordered by the same court on July 13 2023, but he has yet to be sent 19 months on.
After the warrant was issued, he was arrested and brought back to the same court to be dealt with.
At a hearing today he was remanded into custody ahead of the flight.
Prawdzik had been on conditional bail with an electronically-monitored curfew to stay at his home between 11pm and 5am plus other restrictions on travel.
He will now remain n prison until he can be place don the next available extradition flight.
