EXCLUSIVE: UAE national fighting Dubai extradition in connection with alleged £350,000 cheque fraud


A MAN is fighting extradition to Dubai in connection with an alleged £350,000 fraud.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued an international arrest warrant for Ramin Mohammad Ali Nabidoust, 54, from Church Hill Road, Barnet, north London.

The UAE citizen has been arrested on the warrant and brought before Westminster Magistrates' Court.

He is contesting extradition and denies the offence.

The court hard that it is alleged that on March 23 2011 he "dishonestly issued a cheque in the sum of AED 1,632,410 (£353,000) to Maqsoon Fazal Ullah Muhammad Zamani, knowing that the bank account

on which it was drawn had insufficient funds to honour the cheque, contrary to section 2 of the Fraud Act 2006."

He was remanded on conditional bail until November, under a curfew between 1am and 4am daily.

Defend ant to attend.n retained by police and he must live and sleep at his home and not apply for international travel documents or be in possession of any.
