EXCLUSIVE: US woman wanted in Alabama on suspicion of wire fraud arrested in UK

A US WOMAN wanted on suspicion of wire fraud has been arrested after in the UK.

Brandy Ann Scott, 41, (above) was arrested on an international arrest warrant from the US in November 2021 and is now facing extradition.

In July 2020 Crime Stoppers in the US began running appeals for her whereabouts in the Trussville area of Alabama where she had lived in Overlook Drive.

The appeal said she was wanted on felony warrants charging her with theft of property 1st degree and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.

She was arrested in the UK and initially taken to Heathrow police station, before being brought before Westminster Magistrates' Court for extradition proceedings to begin.

She contested being extradited and was initially bailed to reside at an address in Wembley, north-west London.

She was initially released on conditional bail, but was later remanded into custody after breaching bail conditions after being found to not be at the designated address.

Scott is contesting extradition and her case came in for mention at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

The case was adjourned until next month.
