WATCH VIDEO: Man batters another over head with wheel wrench in daylight street brawl
A MAN battered another man in the head with a wheel wrench in a busy London street in broad daylight, but no one has been arrested nearly two weeks on despite clear footage of the suspect being caught on camera.
The attack was filmed outside an Esso petrol station, with video footage, shared on Twitter by @instamfordhill.
It showed two men fighting outside the garage in Stamford Hill, north London, on Monday, October 24.During the fight, one of the men produced the wrench from his back pocket before striking the other in the head a number of times, leaving him visibly injured and bleeding.
Members of the public intervened before the man, who was bald and wearing a white shirt, got into a dark four-wheel drive vehicle and left the area. The filmer of the video zoomed in on the vehicle registration as it left the forecourt, but despite clear footage of the incident available, the Met Police has made no public appeals for information since the attack. A spokesman said: "Police were called at around 2.10pm on Monday October 24 to a petrol station in Stamford Hill N16 to reports of an injured man.
"Officers attended to find a man in his 40s with a head injury. He was taken to a London hospital. His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening. "Central East CID is investigating. No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing. "It looks like officers have something to go on so not need for an appeal at present. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD3664/24Oct."
